Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 10 September 2026
These terms govern your purchase from Shop AE. They are written to meet the disclosure requirements of section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA) and to work alongside your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA).

[TO COMPLETE] Registered company name, legal status (e.g. Pty Ltd / sole proprietor), company registration number, place of registration, names of office bearers, and VAT number if VAT-registered. ECTA section 43 requires these to be published.
2. Products and prices
Each product page describes the item and shows its price. All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable. Delivery is charged separately and is shown at checkout before you pay.
We try to keep descriptions, images and stock levels accurate. Images are illustrative and slight variation in colour or finish can occur. If an item turns out to be unavailable after you have ordered, we will contact you and refund you in full.
If a price is displayed incorrectly through an obvious error, we will contact you before processing the order and you may confirm at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
3. Placing an order
Adding items to your basket and completing checkout is an offer to buy. A contract comes into existence once we accept your order and confirm it by email. We may decline an order where the item is out of stock, the price was wrong, or we cannot deliver to your address.
4. Payment
We accept card payment through Yoco, a licensed South African payment provider. Card details are entered directly into Yoco’s secure, encrypted payment form. Shop AE never receives or stores your card number, expiry date or CVV.
Payment is taken at the time of order. Orders are only dispatched once payment has cleared.
5. Delivery
We deliver throughout South Africa. Full delivery terms, costs and timeframes are set out on our Delivery & Shipping page, which forms part of these terms.
You may also collect free of charge from our Fordsburg store during trading hours.
6. Your right to cancel within 7 days (ECTA section 44)
Because you are buying online, you may cancel your order within 7 days of receiving the goods, without giving any reason, and receive a refund of the price paid.
To use this right, email info@shopae.co.za within 7 days of delivery. Return the goods unused and in their original packaging. We will refund the purchase price within 30 days of the cancellation. You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods, unless they were faulty or incorrect.
This right does not apply to goods made to your specification, or to goods that by their nature cannot be returned once unsealed.
7. Your rights if something is wrong (CPA)
Under section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act you have a 6-month implied warranty on goods bought from us. If within 6 months of delivery an item is found to be defective, unsafe, or not fit for its ordinary purpose, you may return it and choose whether we repair it, replace it, or refund you. This is your choice, not ours, and it costs you nothing.
This is in addition to any manufacturer guarantee and does not replace it.
8. Returns, exchanges and refunds
Our full returns process is set out in our Refund and Returns Policy, which forms part of these terms. You may also return items in person at our Fordsburg store.
9. Accounts
If you create an account, keep your password confidential and tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it. You are responsible for activity under your account.
10. Complaints and dispute resolution
Please contact us first – most issues are resolved quickly. Email info@shopae.co.za or call +27 69 002 5584.
If we cannot resolve matters between us, you may refer the dispute to the National Consumer Commission (thencc.gov.za) or to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (cgso.org.za), at no cost to you. Nothing in these terms limits your right to approach a court.
11. Limitation of liability
We are liable for loss caused by our own failure to meet these terms. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability under the Consumer Protection Act for unsafe or defective goods.
12. Intellectual property
The content of this website – text, images, logos and design – belongs to Shop AE or its suppliers and may not be copied or reused without written permission.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. The version published when you place your order is the version that applies to that order.
